Haishu Ding, LCSW, joins the Counseling Center Staff

The RPI Student Health and Wellness department has announced the hiring of Haishu Ding, licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), as a Counselor in the Counseling Center.

Haishu joins the diverse and highly credentialed counseling center staff following an 11 year career in Brooklyn, NY that included providing advocacy services for immigrant children and families in a non-profit agency, and offering psychotherapy for adolescents and adults in a hospital outpatient clinic.

Born and raised in China, Haishu completed a BA in Journalism before coming to the United States as an international student. She earned dual master’s degrees in Social Work and Public Health from the University of Pittsburgh. Haishu is a native speaker of Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese, and she is particularly passionate about providing affirming care to the LGBTQIA+ community, along with extensive training in this area. She also works closely with international students and adult children of immigrant parents, addressing challenges such as acculturation stress, immigration-related trauma, and intergenerational conflict.

"We are excited to welcome Haishu Ding to our Counseling Center team," said Dr. Kevin Readdean, Director of Counseling. "Haishu comes to RPI with strong clinical skills, a passion for supporting student development, and the lived-experience of being an international student, all of which are exceptional assets to our department. Please join me in extending a warm welcome to Haishu to the RPI community.”
