Daniel H. Reirden, MD, Director, Student Health Center
We are pleased to announce that Daniel H. Reirden, MD has been named Director of the RPI Student Health Center, bringing with him more than two decades of clinical leadership, academic experience, and national recognition in adolescent medicine, HIV care, and gender diverse health.
Dr. Reirden joined RPI as Associate Director of Student Health in August 2025 and now ascends into this new role where he will lead our student health strategy and clinical services with a focus on accessible, inclusive, student-centered care. Dan also will serve on the Student Health and Wellness Leadership Team and provide expert guidance and leadership to the community on salient student health and public health issues.
Before joining RPI, Dan served for nearly 20 years at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Children’s Hospital Colorado, where he rose to the rank of Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Medicine and held multiple clinical and administrative leadership roles, including Medical Director of the CHIP Youth Program and Director of the TRUE Center for Gender Diversity. His career has been defined by a deep commitment to equitable, compassionate care and a strong focus on improving health outcomes for adolescents and young adults.
Dr. Reirden has received numerous honors, among them several humanitarian awards and multiple “Top Doctor” distinctions. He is also an active researcher and leader, serving in key roles within the Adolescent Trials Network for HIV/AIDS Interventions and contributing to NIH-funded studies focused on youth HIV prevention, gender affirming care, and health equity.
A gifted teacher and mentor, Dan has developed curricula, guided residency programs, and taught extensively across medicine, nursing, dentistry, and allied health fields. He is widely published and has contributed to numerous high impact pediatric and adolescent medicine textbooks and clinical guidelines.
Dr. Reirden earned his B.S. in Biology (Magna Cum Laude) from Fordham University and his M.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. He completed a combined Internal Medicine–Pediatrics residency followed by a prestigious Adolescent Medicine fellowship at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Jewel Robinson, RN, Nurse Manager
We are thrilled to announce that Jewel Robinson, RN, has been appointed as the inaugural Nurse Manager at the (RPI) Student Health Center. With almost 30 years of nursing experience and a clear record of excellence in college health, pediatric care, operating room nursing, and rehabilitation, Jewel brings a wealth of expertise and leadership to our campus community.
Jewel has been an integral part of the RPI Student Health Center since 2004, serving as a Staff Nurse and playing a pivotal role in providing exceptional care to our diverse student population. Jewel’s commitment to fostering teamwork, open communication, and continuous improvement has made her a trusted leader and advocate for student health and wellness. Her dedication to professional development and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams ensures seamless coordination of patient care services.
As Nurse Manager, Jewel will oversee the nursing operations of the Student Health Center, lead quality improvement initiatives, and continue to provide compassionate care to our students. Her leadership will be instrumental in advancing the health and well-being of the RPI community.
